The Head of Business Strategy is a key position in the Retail Management Team of ING Bank Romania, responsible to design, communicate, plan and execute the Retail business strategy across the different tribes, coordinating their contribution to maximize results in terms of growth, profitability and efficiency.
In an agile organization it becomes more and more relevant to understand the global picture and keep business focus and alignment.
The Head of Business Strategy will manage a team of strategy experts allocated to the different tribes to translate the bank objectives into a compelling plan for each tribe and Retail as a whole.
Business Strategy - Contribute to define the long term business strategy for Retail, aligned to the bank objectives. Ensure consistency and provide global vision.
Planning and Monitoring - In collaboration with the Tribe Leads, define the contribution of the different products, customer segments and channels to the Retail growth strategy.
Monitor, in cooperation with CI, the business growth, steering commercial focus when needed, both in acquisition and x-buy campaigns.
Analyse, with Finance, income and cost drivers in Retail.
Pricing - As Head of Pricing, propose pricing decisions aligned with the commercial strategy, and promote the experimentation mind-
set across the teams, sharing results and identifying best practice
Communication - Coordinate the preparation of strategy presentations for HO and the rest of the organization. Help the Head of Retail to create engagement around the Retail vision.
Retail SPOC for Finance in the preparation of QPR and for HO in defining and monitoring Retail KPIs.
Retail Coordination - As Secretary of the Retail MT, prepare the RBMC meetings, define the agenda, draft the minutes, set up action plans and ensure follow up.
Advise and act as sounding board for the Head of Retail in developing the day-to-day retail activities. Connect and break silos among tribes, stimulate team work within RBMC.
Act as linking pin and ensure smooth connection and alignment with the rest of areas of the bank (Finance, Risk, COO, HR, etc.)
Team Management - Motivate them to deliver high quality analysis that help to take better business decisions. In order to successfully execute on these responsibilities, the Head of Business Strategy will manage a team of around 10 experts allocated to the business squads of the different tribes.
What you bring to the team
Degree / post graduate qualification, MBA is a plus;
Strong analytical skills to swoop and soar, to connect the dots, to set strategy and direction based on facts and figures
Inspiring communication capabilities, to deliver a compelling story that engages and influences across the organization

Solid understanding of Retail, as well as the drivers of our business;
Analytical and numerate, Finance MA or Business Intelligence background is a plus;
