We create software solutions to support clinicians and healthcare professionals in hospitals and healthcare organizations worldwide, and we are looking for a Human Factors Researcher to join exciting projects addressing patient safety and user experience.

We’ve grown the largest User Experience team in our industry with the specific goal of reshaping our applications to anticipate user needs.

Cerner’s human factors researchers collaborate with clinicians, healthcare staff, and patients to identify and solve complex health care issues.

The Human Factors Research team conducts a wide variety of research across devices and experiences including various stages of design.

This makes our solutions easier to use and faster to navigate while also improving the intelligence of the overall system.

As a Senior Human Factors Researcher, you will advise internal development teams on user interface design and usability through application of human factors principles, standards, and methodology to identify and mitigate design induced end-

user performance issues. You will be responsible for planning and conducting usability research studies, using the most effective method for the established usability goals.

You will plan and define patient safety and hazard analysis studies and plan and conduct the most effective method to elicit and represent stakeholder and end-

user requirements at each stage of the development process.

In this role you will define usability goals for multiple solutions in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, acceptability, training impact, and error tolerance, and ensure these goals are understood by the development team.

You will be able to communicate usability testing findings, recommend solution, and project functionality enhancements to improve usability and provide usability and design feedback based on human factors knowledge and principals.

You will also collaborate with designers to create workflow models, solve complex design challenges and defend design decisions based on research.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive Psychology, or Ergonomics, or Experimental Psychology, or Human-Computer Interaction, or Industrial Engineering, or Informatics, or Information Science, or Psychology or a related field, or related equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years Human Factors research work experience
  • Fluent in Romanian and English
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • At least 1-year User research tools work experience similar to Morae, UserZoom
  • Expectations :

  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Additional Information

    All employees must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
