All fields of contemporary industry want to be green : public opinion is now increasingly aware of the importance of safeguarding the environment of our world, especially for generations to come.
All Automotive companies seem to have realized it and are looking for solutions to contribute to this general trend.
In order to implement state of the art e-mobility solutions the car manufacturers need Power Electronics. This includes a high voltage inverter and a DC / DC converter.
The inverter converts the direct current of the battery into the three-phase alternating current that is required by the electric motor.
During recuperation, the power electronics converts the alternating current generated by the electric motor into direct current, and thus charges the battery.
The DC / DC supplies the 12 Volt boardnet of the hybrid and electric vehicles with power, which makes the 12 Volt alternator redundant.
