Advanced product quality planning (APQP) is a framework of procedures and techniques used to develop products in automotive industry.
The role of SW APQP must be well-versed in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle in the automotive market space.
Strong technical experience is required for this role, with the ability to guide teams in code reviews, understand techniques of Unit Testing, Static Code Analysis, and Functional Safety.
Experience in Agile and / or SaFE is also required.
Job Responsibilities :
Member of the quality organization within Harman Automotive programs (Focus on Software development) and ensure adherence to Harman Business Management System (BMS) Product Lifecycle Management processes within the Automotive programs.
Define and execute the Quality Plan in accordance with organizational BMS and ASPICE standards for large programs.
Work with Plant quality to ensure coordination with DFMEA, PFMEA
Review of PPAP with teams
Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate HW and manufacturing development. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups
Coach engineering teams in best practices in all areas of the product lifecycle, with a focus on successful SW and HW integration.
Guide team members to follow Business management system process and PLM process;
Review Safe launch activity in Supplier and Harman site, Customer VOC tracking in SOP+90 Days
Plan and schedule cross functional activities worldwide in different regions. Activities include : maturity level reviews, preparation for customer audits, assisting project team with process adherence, gap resolutions and successful project execution.
Represent the interface to Quality Leader at customer side and work closely with customer interfaces in Quality and Engineering.
Manage, execute and track quality activities in projects to achieve targets for time, cost and quality; in case of deviations drive escalations at different levels internal and external and track to closure.
Report program health status regularly to different internal and external management levels.
Coordinate quality impacting decisions and / or escalations on program side between all parties
Drive the organization at Harman and customer, together with the quality counterpart at customer, to achieve successful hardware and software integration Coordinate and assure Harman quality requirements to customer.
Conduct scheduled reviews with the appropriate process owners.
Communicate Quality performance, improvement plans, and corrective actions to customer
Implement quality gates for any / all deliverables that go to customer
Review all appropriate documentations, processes & results applicable, related to this projects and if needed organize audits to get a visibility about the status.
Ensure that Harman PLM processes lessons learned and best practices are understood and effective in practice.
Maintain and understand all internal and external requirements.
Address audit findings and assure proper action plans.
Support in internal audit &certification activities for IATF16949
Set up, track and analyze metrics to come up with action items to fix gaps
Collaboration with other regional quality teams and global teams to ensure process adherence across organization
Contribute towards organizational process definition / updates
Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs, and / or port to different platforms
Participates in internal and customer driven design reviews throughout program
Coordinates software development activities in support of the software team leader
Works with the customer to further define requirements and to resolve issues
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree in Enginering (ME, EE) or related field
4+ years of experience in Automotive Quality and Program Management in similar programs
Expert in Software Development Life Cycle and AGILE, with strong experience in Code Reviews, Unit Testing, Requirements Management / traceability.
Experience in leading customer escalations
Thorough knowledge of management systems, at least one of CMMi or Automotive Spice. Other standards such as ISO / TS16949 are desirable
Ability to conduct and understand quality management tools like FMEA, Ishikawa, 8D, 5-Why, 8-D
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Strong negotiation skills
