Job Summary

As a leading chemical and materials manufacturer and provider, Avantor provides access to mission-critical product and service solutions from the life sciences and other regulated sectors, including Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, and Advanced Technologies.

We are looking for commercial Sanctions Specialist, to join our Trade Compliance team in Europe.

We are looking for recognised subject matter expert on BIS, OFAC and EU regulations to provide guidance to the export teams when shipping products to destinations that might be subject to sanctions.

You will be responsible for the efficient operations of sanctions compliance, ensuring processes meet acceptable performance levels and remain in compliance with corporate policies and government regulations.

Location : Europe, remote

What you'll be doing on daily basis?

Monitor new and existing regulations, and changes to sanctions and embargoes, interpret the regulatory impact for business operations and specify new procedures and changes to SAP;

notify local Regulatory Affairs, and the affected business operations.

Interpret OFAC and BIS regulations to evaluate whether each new UN agency request can be fulfilled for the types of products required, and the end-users

Write new / amend existing ISO procedures and train the business operations in the new processes

Provide training to business operations, where required

Interact with Local Regulatory Affairs, Legal Department, European and local Quality Managers, Chief Scientist, Procurement, Sourcing, Central Planning, Logistics, Product Portfolio, Sales, Operations, Suppliers and Manufacturers.

What you'll need to be successful at Avantor?

2+ years’ experience working within a sanctions-specific role

Fluent in English; other European languages an advantage, particularly French, Dutch or German

Knowledge and understanding of sanctions, local requirements for EU countries

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, and SAP as advantage (ERP)

Ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment
