About Team

We are currently recruiting Senior Software Developer for Pearson English Portal project.

The goal of the Pearson English Portal to simplify and standardize the way customers can access all their relevant Pearson English content in one place with a single account.

It provides a repository of digital product assets, gives teachers access to tools such as the teacher Presentation tool and GSE Teacher toolkit as well as providing core LMS functionality to create and manage students, classes and homework.

This programme focuses on the development of a framework of digital components and capabilities that are shareable, composable, enable innovation, and scale at a faster pace to maximize business opportunities.

Job Details

Full time employment, 40hrs / week.

Fully remote or hybrid as an options

Role requirements

Identify and analyse user requirements

Prioritize and execute tasks throughout the software development life cycle

Designing, creating, and implementing Java-based applications

Write well-designed, efficient code

Review, test and debug team members’ code

Design database architecture

Document development phases

Ensure our applications are secure and up-to-da

Interpreting briefs to create high-quality coding that functions according to specifications.

Ensuring that written code falls in line with the project objectives.

Problem solving with other team members in the project.

Identifying and resolving immediate potential issues with applications.

Participating in scrum / group meetings to discuss projects and objectives.

Assisting other developers with troubleshooting, debugging, and coding.

Meeting deadlines on fast-paced deliverables.

Ability to work with other developers and assist junior team members

Experience & qualifications

Work experience as a Senior Java Developer or similar role

Experience designing, building and testing Java EE applications

In-depth knowledge of current frameworks, JSF, MVC, SDKs, APIs, and libraries

Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
