Job Description

As a Lead 3D Game Environment Artist, you will act as the main link between the Art department and the Art Director.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • The ideal candidate is able to create the whole artistic part of a game, ensure and maintain quality goals and artistic consistency for 3D art department, set visual standards and help building up the Art direction, defining the projects style and tone, ensuring the consistency of the Art vision across the game.
  • Leading the local 3D environment team and work closely with the Art Director and Design teams to ensure the highest quality visuals, help defining the look and feel of the environments of the game while paying special attention to the quality of the gameplay experience.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing 3D assets that are technically optimal, meet design needs, are aligned with the established visual identity.
  • Helping on the development of the pipeline and the tools needed to complete successfully the Art production.
  • Creating benchmark 3D and 2D assets such as props, textures, for the environments.
  • Providing guidance and training to team members.
  • Designing early elements during pre-production, actively taking part in research and development of the environments whole appearance, functionality, maneuverability, immersive curve.
  • Writing and updating 3D technical guidelines & documentation starting at preproduction stage.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Leader.
  • Expert in 3d package (3dsmax, Maya, Blender) and 2d (Photoshop, Substance Painter).
  • Expert in both, high poly and low poly modeling as well as PBR texture baking.
  • Proficient sculpting skills in Zbrush for organic and hard surface assets.
  • Keen eye in world assembly and attention to detail.
  • Good artistic sensibilities, form aesthetics, color harmonies, composition, rhythm.
  • Able to work in a team, motivate and maintain long term relations with team members.
  • Good analytical skills and judgement related to problem solving.
  • Outstanding self-motivation and initiative.
  • Good knowledge of a major engine (Unreal or Unity).
  • Experience with particle / VFX editors.
  • Able to create advanced VFX, atmospherics for the environments is a big plus.
  • Ability to create both stylized and realistic Art.
  • General knowledge about 3D rendering engines and adjacent technologies (shaders, scripts).
  • Experience in creating games and knowledge about the gaming Art and history.
  • Able to animate basic objects in a 3D environment (trees, moving objects, cloth, etc.).
  • Up to date with latest industry trends and technologies.
