Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to lead one of the largest Philips factories in CEE where we produce various personal health products.

You will lead the factory into the new opportunities coming up by making Philips Orastie the preferred internal supplier, with increased levels of efficiency and productivity.

You are responsible for

  • Delivering Products on time, with the requested level of quality to customer and at the right cost.
  • Translation of strategic objectives into financial implications for the business. Determine the financial impact of potential decisions and act accordingly.
  • Exercise supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing according to Business Sales and Operational Plan. Executing productivity plan linked to processes and equipment.
  • Defining, executing CAPEX, OPEX budget as well as inventory.
  • Be relentless in the focus given to building talent both within your own Management Team as well as throughout the business.
  • Defining, executing resource plan capacity, capabilities in line with S&OP and Strategic Workforce Planning.
  • Master the Lean transformation journey including problem solving, daily management and continuous improvement activities across the Site.
  • Use depth and breadth of experiences to see the Big Picture and hold others accountable to internal stretch goals in an effort to drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead the factory in the new era of Industry 4.0 and focus on continuous improvement on processes, equipment and tools.
  • Coach and mentor others for personal and professional development, routinely demonstrate coaching as part of the way you lead.
  • Practice coaching by going to the shop floor, making sure you are where the players are.

  • Apply regulatory policies and local regulations.
  • Management of external relationships including local government, schools and universities and a network of local companies and stakeholders.
  • Management of site wide infrastructure and facilities (buildings, maintenance, utilities, site services etc).
  • New business development for existing and potentially new business on the site for operations.
  • Company wide stakeholder management
  • Development of a site vision and bringing that to life.

    In Orastie you will lead a multi-functional management team with factory specific functions. You will be reporting into the Head of Manufacturing Products and the Europe Primus Inter Pares.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Strong Leadership of and inspiration for direct reports as well as the broader organization.
  • More than 15 years’ experience in industrial / manufacturing engineering leading role, of which at least 5 year as Plant Manager.
  • Experience in leading a production team(s) and building a network of support from functional areas for successful and timely execution of customer needs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills on all levels of a corporate organization.
  • Combination of the ability to think strategically with managing detail. Apply breadth to thinking and observation of environment and others.
  • Use the Go and See approach when making decisions or taking action on root cause.

  • A strong vision on how new technologies, industry 4.0 and digitalization can help in building the factory of the future.
  • A good understanding of mass produced consumer goods.
  • Expertise and practical hands-on experience with Lean tools. You understand what it takes to create a lean culture to increase productivity through elimination of waste.
  • Winning mentality and persuasion skills.
  • Courage, authenticity and learning agility.
  • Fluent English language skills.
