Senior Analyst, General Ledger

What you will be doing :

  • You will assist the Accounting team and perform month-end / year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and monthly reporting
  • You will oversee the closing schedule and insure an efficient interface between different closing contributors : Financial Controllers, Accounting Managers, GL, Treasury, AP and AR
  • Reconcile corporate balance sheets and deliver summary reconciliation reports to the management or executive team with whom you will work closely to share reports and analysis findings
  • You will support the planning and forecasting process
  • You will take part to the benefits risk review processes and prepare different analysis for the executive team
  • Take part of the filling of quarterly / yearly SEC filings, including Form 10-Q and 10-K
  • Assist with both internal and external audits
  • Prepare payroll journal entries
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations according to group policy
  • Perform SOX Controls testing
  • Participate in ad hoc and special projects as required
  • Review and analyze together with the Manager and team all the dashboard indicators and reporting data to assess progress and take actions
  • Follow procedures according to accounting rules and Steelcase processes
  • Actively initiate and conduct continuous operational improvements - identify, propose and implement improvements in existing processes
  • Regularly review and update all the SOPs related to the process
  • Comply with business ethics, applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information

  • Qualifications :

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • You are fluent in English (any other language would be a plus)
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Strong accounting and financial technical skills
  • Shown knowledge of US GAAP
  • Technical skills :

  • Strong computer skills including Web navigation and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP and understanding of terminology and relevant tools for the position (Cadency, Wdesk)
