The role of the Chapter Lead is to manage and coach the team of Core Bankingspecialists (Dev Engineers) working for different squads delivering CoreBanking functionalities, but also act as a contributor to the success of theproject in his / her squad.
This position is based in Bucharest. Part of this job may include visiting otherEuropean countries and working closely with local ING colleagues in order togain knowledge about their banking business and IT practices.
The Chapter Lead determines the way of working for individuals in aparticular area of specialisation and ensures personal development within thatarea.
The chapter lead spends part of his / her time as a proficient engineer andthe remaining with people management (including planning, coaching and review)and facilitating the development of job maturity for his / her entire chapter.
Your day today :
As Chapter Lead you will be responsible of :
Analysis and Design : Creation of designs, including solution and data models,user experience, and application architecture corresponding to the user storiesin the backlog.
Coaching theteam : act as performance coach for the team to continuously improve theirknowledge and performance.
Performancemanagement : review and approve KPI, Orange Code and Stretch Ambitions for the chaptermembers.
Continuousimprovement : helping the team to improve performance bylearning form mistakes and also find ways to bring lessons learned by otherteams to your chapter.
Stakeholdermanagement and Wow : work with stakeholders fromdifferent squads to understand and be able to help the team set-
up theirindividual KPI’s and determine the way of working for the chapter.
Initiatingchanges to increase the DevOps team’s productivity.
Recruiting : you willwork with HR to find and recruit the best engineers in order to complete therecruitment plan set up by the IT Area Lead.
Training : Help set-upand then contribute to the Profile Academy program with specific trainings andcontent.
KnowledgeSharing : Create or contribute in specific Profile Guilds.
In this position you should collaborate with Scrum Masters from differentsquads to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum within theorganization and improve the velocity of the team-members.
What youbring to the team
Bachelor’sdegree Computer Science and / or Informatics
Minimum 5years of experience in delivering applications in a production environment ; understanding of continuous integration andcontinuous delivery work flows preferably in Core Banking system development projects.
Experiencewith building highly available distributed applications and productionecosystems.
Spring Frameworkknowledge is a big plus.
Comfortable withcoaching and motivating team members.
Familiaritywith tools like Confluence, JIRA, Fortify, Git, Jenkins, Maven.
Experience oraffinity with IT Security concepts.
You have anexcellent command of written and spoken English.
