Reporting to the IT Executive Director, Supply Chain Process & Technology Functional Partner Logistics and Planning , the IT Process Lead Logistics and Planning ’s primary mission is to be the liaison between the business functional group Logistics, Planning and the global IT function to provide technical solutions and processes to meet user needs.

This role requires a hybrid of knowledge of the systems and capabilities of the IT organization, 3rd party solutions and service providers, as well as expertise in the global function supported - Logistics and Planning.

Utilizing an understanding of both business strategy and operational needs, works primarily with the EMEA distribution and supply chain planning business team to define desired future states to address business problems.

Works with the appropriate IT functions to define IT enabled projects, shape them, and develop the business justification.

Assists the Functional Partnership Director in driving alignment of IT investments to support the business strategy roadmap and IT technology roadmaps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Functions as a liaison / interface between supply chain Business and the IT side in terms of understanding business needs and delivering IT solutions
  • Supports the Logistics and Supply Chain Planning Functional Partnership IT Executive Director as a point of contact for IT issue escalation.
  • Ensures that the appropriate people in IT are working the issue, and that the appropriate business team members are kept informed of status.

  • Collaborate with members of various IT organizations and cross functional groups to help solve problems, deliver projects and solutions
  • Drives the prioritization of IT projects, demand generated by the DCs / Warehouses and Planning teams.
  • Acts as the primary IT contact for the Distribution Centers related to day to day issues
  • Helps the business understand how technology can be deployed to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Assess emerging technologies on an ongoing basis and help interpret its meaning to the business partners
  • Monitors system performance against agreed SLAs and initiates and coordinates deficiency corrective measures, especially where business involvement is required
  • Works with the various IT groups to identify local application simplification candidates, decommissioning candidates, or where processes can be migrated to enterprise solutions
  • Works with business functions to identify business problems and define future state solutions
  • When needed, acts as a project manager for Logistics and Planning related IT projects
  • Works with the business and appropriate IT groups for project shaping of IT enabled initiatives. Elicits business requirements and helps to identify project benefits
  • Translates business requirements into functionality requirements and helps define the business value of the requirements
  • Assists in the creation of compelling business cases in support of IT enabled projects. Clearly articulates the benefits of proposed projects in Business language
  • Assists business partners in communicating the value of IT solutions to key stakeholders
  • Works with IT Architecture and key business stakeholders to define Business Capability Roadmaps. Identifies required IT enabled projects needed to support the realization of the Business Capability Roadmap Ensure appropriate acceptance test conditions are defined to ensure that the delivered functionality works and delivers the business value.
  • Represent IT within the Logistics and Planning team by maintaining a high degree of visibility within the business and attending business meetings as appropriate, providing a central point of information for all related IT activities.
  • Drives consensus for a desired future state that meet the business needs as well as fits the IT architecture and strategy
  • In conjunction with the Key Business Contact contributes to the business strategy, by identifying how IT can contribute to business goals
  • To maintain an up-to-date, understanding of both Business and IT strategy
  • Understand solution and service catalog
  • Recognizes the implications of changes in the business and adapts the IT portfolio accordingly
  • Responsible to ensure IT compliance with SOX and support all individual plant audits
  • Responsible to ensure that facilities adhere to standard IT practices
  • Required Experience

    What will make you successful

  • 5-7 years of experience in IT.
  • Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management systems like Manhattan WMS and SAP WM, IM , MM and SAP EWM .
  • Hands-on experience with supply chain planning (Demand and Supply Planning, SIOP) systems like Manugistics / JDA / Blue Yonder, SAP APO and Kinaxis etc .
  • End to end understanding of the Supply Chain business processes
  • Minimum 2-3 years of project management experience
  • Implementation and support experience is highly preferred
  • Strong IT infrastructure knowledge preferred
  • Good presentation and English communication (written and verbal) skills. Ability to communicate in multiple languages relevant for the region is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple constituencies to support project and organizational change management objectives
  • Strong analytical skills especially in the area of requirement elicitation
  • Well organized with the ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Good interpersonal and collaboration skills, strong ability to influence others at all levels
  • Strong leadership, consulting, and negotiating skills
  • Experienced in business process analysis, standardization and optimization
  • Experience with tools like Lean Manufacturing, TMS, and Six Sigma a plus
  • Automotive experience a plus
  • Basic financial skills needed to develop quality and comprehensive Business Cases
  • Deep understanding of the business processes and IT solutions in the logistics (warehouse management and distribution center) space
  • Deep understanding of the business processes and IT solutions in the Supply Chain Planning (Demand Planning, SIOP, Supply Planning and ATP, MRP) space
  • Clear understanding of the relational database concepts, tools and ERP Master data structure and elements
  • Clear thinking
  • Ability to collaborate with global colleagues
  • Ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical simplified manner and in business impact terms
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to travel 30% domestically and internationally.
  • Education

  • Required Bachelor’s degree of Science in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain related disciplines.
  • CPIM (APICS) is highly preferred
  • A Master’s degree is preferred
