The Logistic Planner is responsible for coordinating shipments from the manufacturing plants, in accordance to the customer request and plant availability while ensuring proper freight allocation and minimizing expedited shipments.

The Logistics planner will be in charge of Intra CO Purchase Order Planning (Including Intra CO Kanban Boards) and Inventory projections.

Finally, the logistics planner will be the key person from Therm-O-Disc in daily communications with Logistics service providers for Inbound and Outbound Transportation.


Intra CO Purchase Orders

  • Ensure proper placement of Intra Co Purchase orders & Sales Orders with Correct Incoterms, Lead time and Mode of Transport;
  • Ensures that the dates are updated in the Oracle ERP system;
  • Coordinates with the manufacturing facilities and the TOD Shipping departments for timely delivery of the incoming shipments to the European Distribution Center in Almelo;
  • Follow-up on overdue sales orders in the manufacturing plans, planning the best ship method in order to avoid disruptions in the supply chain and delivery to the customers;
  • Create and processes premium Freight Board Requests (FBR) for expedites in a timely manner in accordance with approved guidelines;
  • Intra Company Kanban Purchases. Respond to EMPTY Kanban Cards Signals and initiate Replenishment cycle;
  • Work with MFG site in optimizing Batch sizes, Packaging and Expedite freight;
  • Inventory

  • Responsible for setting and maintaining proper FG Inventory levels in Europe DC Almelo;
  • Maintains the customer’s Safety / Consignment stock at the agreed levels by monitoring actual inventory levels, customers expected demand and actual production orders;
  • Monthly Inventory Projections;
  • Inventory accuracy and Quarterly reconciliation of Excess & Obsolete;
  • Inbound Logistics

  • Provides information to the warehouse and CSRs on inbound shipments;
  • Monitoring and follow-up with the designated transport companies on the ETA of the incoming shipments;
  • Measures and communicates Inbound logistics Forwarder performance;
  • Establishes and implements corrective actions in order to align to the customer’s needs and the TOD internal service level targets;
  • Raises claims with the transport companies in case of incoming damaged shipments;
  • Ensures that the correct forwarders are used, as agreed in the annual Emerson Corporate Logistic Awards;
  • Outbound Transport, Logistics & Warehouse

  • Spokesperson for CSR and Sales team towards Logistics and Transportation performance;
  • Ensures the shipment process to customer runs smoothly and without issues. Communicates with warehouse, customer service department and forwarders in case of issues;
  • Ensure correct handling of ASN and ASP needs to customer;
  • Improve Logistics Outbound performance with Forwarders;
  • Ensure proper RMA returns handling and Samples Logistics flow;
  • Address packaging, labelling, repack where appropriate;
  • Trade Compliance

  • Ensure that customer & all transaction screening is properly performed when required as per the company’s trade compliance procedures and instructions;
  • Any concerns or questions are to be escalated to the local gatekeeper;

  • Follows all other department & local procedures;
  • Understand & follow all company rules and safe work practices;
  • Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents to their supervisor;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • 2-3 years experience working in Supply Chain / Logistics / Procurement related activities, B2B environment, preferably with a manufacturing or distribution company;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, or equivalent productivity suites, currently in use by the Company;
  • Experience in operating ERP systems such as Oracle is a plus;
  • General basis knowledge of Materials mgmt. systems, Pull, JIT, Kanban is a plus;
  • English Spoken and Written;
  • Written and verbal communication skills and negotiation skills;
  • Customer focus and Customer Satisfaction mindset. Identifies wishes and needs of customers; act and thinks from customer perspective keeping in mind the company’s targets;
  • Pro-active : seeks opportunities and takes initiative;
  • Integrity;
  • Ability to coordinate between the different departments in the organization (Production, planners, materials and quality) Shipping Department and Credit Department.
