Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Improve observability of microservices and Kafka.
Design, implement, and test CI / CD solutions with a focus towards fully (or one-click) automated deployments.
Automate tasks using scripting and other open source tools.
Troubleshoot automation and support production issues.
Perform and document software deployments like occasional stack version bumps.
Foster growth of team competencies in devops.
Establish and lead devops stack decisions.
Document and present stack and stack decisions to technical audiences.
Required Competencies
Knowledge of scripting language, Python and Bash preferably.
Experience with Linux.
Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, and tools used for infrastructure provisioning and application observability.
Experience with highly available auto scaled service orchestration.
At least intermediate level of English, both written and verbal.
Good problem solving skills.
Optional Competencies
Understanding of CI / CD concepts and DevOps / GitOps Automation tools, e.g. AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, FluxCD.
Experience in AWS and Docker.
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and AlertManager.
