The Lifecycle Services Proposal Engineer is responsible for the timely delivery of accurate quotations based on customer specifications, supporting Emerson Automation Solutions, Process Systems and Solutions (PSS) sales and service teams across Europe.
He / she is responsible to proactively support and follow up Lifecycle Services initiatives and provide support for Emerson existing customers.
Manage European Lifecycle Services quote requests from Emerson internal or external customers for Process Systems and Solutions Products and Services;
Proactively generate and follow up leads derived out of the Emerson installed base;
Create quotes for European Maintenance Service Agreements and issue renewals within the set target;
Responsible for the correctness of the detailed technical solution, as well as for accuracy and completeness of the financial estimates;
Prepare and present technical features of Emerson and 3rd party products including the completion of compliance statements against inquiry documents;
Collaborate, communicate and align activities with the local European Process Systems and Solutions sales / service teams to understand customer requirements and develop the optimal solution;
Work with the European Process Systems and Solutions sales / service team to issue several proposals in parallel;
Closely cooperate with sales, service and other departments and business units to compile estimates, drawings, project plans and other documents needed to generate competitive and accurate proposals;
Act as Consultant to the in-country sales / service force for all Lifecycle Services programs;
Report to the Lifecycle Services Team Leader to set the course of action necessary to deliver proposals according to customer requirements, in time and at the highest standards of quality;
Be flexible to travel to other Emerson European offices for kick-off meetings, clarifications, site surveys, proposal development and review meetings in accordance with the agreed sales / service strategies;
Draw-up specific activity reports;
Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of Process Systems and Solutions products, services& Industry application;
Adhere to Emerson Process Managements Ethical values at all time;
Follow the correct working methods, procedures, tools, and identify areas of improvement where needed.
Fluent in English; a second European language is a plus;
Technical University degree;
2+ years experience in a similar position in a commercial environment (technical support, quotations, technical sales, technical customer support, contract management);
2+ years relevant experience in the automation industry with good technical knowledge of different industry segments (Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Refining, Pharma etc.);
Knowledge of Process Control and Safety Systems with applications in Process Industries is an advantage.
Experienced at working in virtual teams is a plus
Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, working with databases
Technical writing, detail-oriented and ability to work accurately
