The Worldwide Internet Solutions Group Sales Learning & Development Team (WW SLD) creates training programs to advance Lenovo Data Center sales opportunities specifically in the areas of server, storage and networking.

This team is responsible for the effectiveness and impact of sales training programs pertaining to the Internet Solutions Group, including the development and delivery of learning programs targeted for Lenovo s globally dispersed sales teams, including internal and business partner sales teams.

The Technical Trainer (Subject Matter Expert) position :

  • Serves as a Technical Subject Matter Expert focused on Lenovo Solutions and products
  • Assists in the creation of innovative learning programs targeted at the Lenovo s internal and external sales teams dispersed globally
  • Participates in global collaboration efforts in the design, development and delivery of strategic learning offerings to support Lenovo Data Center Group strategic business initiatives
  • Leads / participates in the ongoing training needs analysis to define training requirements; recommends appropriate training solutions;
  • leads / participates in the design, development, and delivery of training programs.

  • Works under the direction of a Senior Manager within the WW ISG Sales Learning & Development Organization
  • Works closely with and is the primary technical SME resource for Instructional Designers and Developer resources responsible for creating learning programs and courses
  • Partners with Product and Marketing Teams to understand Lenovo's data center solutions and product offerings and related sales strategies from technical specs to value proposition to go to market strategies
  • Regularly collaborates and partners with Data Center Group Sales, Marketing and Product Executives
  • May be asked to project manage various training development and delivery activities
  • Assist and participates in training needs analysis and performance consulting efforts to drive business results and optimize individual and organizational performance
  • Leverages team resources, capabilities, tools, systems, and expertise as well as those of other Lenovo training organizations to address defined business training needs

  • Position Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree or higher (preferably in Electrical / Computer / Networking Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Sciences, or other related field) OR equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years experience in technical roles, preferably in the server, AI or Edge topics areas
  • Minimum of 5+ years of corporate training experience, preferably in the design, development and delivery of sales training
  • Must be able to effectively balance strong technical skills with solid relationship-building capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must have the ability to drive for results and a passion to win
  • Must have the desire to collaborate, build, strong, influential relationships, and effectively influence decisions
  • The ideal candidate would possess the following experience :

  • Broad knowledge of server, storage and networking technologies is required
  • Technical certifications expected
  • Considered an expert in knowledge of server, storage and networking products and solutions and familiar with standard service offerings
  • Must be able to effectively work with a range of stakeholders including executives, other subject matter experts, as well as instructional designers and multimedia developers
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Results driven, team player
  • Good presentation skills
  • Technical support, pre-sales support, installation or sales experience in the technology industry is preferred.
