Position purpose

We are expanding our Legal team in order to continue with our company’s successful growth and we’re looking for top talent to join us and grow with us! This new role will be part of Sustainalytics SCS Legal Team, supporting the fast -paced line of business of Sustainable Corporates Solutions (SCS) in its tremendous growth on different markets we currently operate.

Key responsabilities

As a Compliance Officer, you’ll be responsible for performing Know Your Customer screenings, negotiating compliance related contractual clauses, and supporting the SCS sales and legal team in answering compliance related questions included in the RfPs, clients’ inquiries or vendor due diligence questionnaires, ensuring that the provided details meet both the expectations of the firm and the client.

You will work closely with the SCS sales and legal team, and will liaise with different departments across

the company to collect relevant answers for the clients. You’ll also be involved in training of staff and monitoring implementation of compliance related policies.

You will be expected to possess negotiation capabilities and assist Compliance department with developing policy, process and documentation to ensure the effective implementation of complex compliance related activities, managing business opportunities and risks appropriately.

On a daily basis, you’ll be responsible for :

  • Serving as the main point of contact for the SCS sales team on all KYC and DDQ processes, as well as for the compliance related questions in the RfPs
  • Support with client retention through the application of timely, high quality service.
  • Collaborate with other teams to create high quality value for our clients.
  • Review and accept compliance relevant contractual clauses and requirements from clients
  • Work with the team on ensuring Sustainalytics develops and maintains effective internal procedures to comply with applicable legal provisions and regulations;
  • Implement processes to manage compliance efforts across the business which provide a pragmatic and balanced approach to compliance and business;
  • Monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations and internal policies;
  • Provide relevant training to staff;
  • Participation in calls with clients and their compliance teams with the focus to negotiate compliance related provisions of commercial contracts;
  • Timely, high quality service is expected with a focus on observing a strict timeline on delivery to stakeholders.
  • Qualifications :

  • Degree in Law ;
  • At least 3 years of experience in compliance departments, internal audits / internal control departments;
  • Working experience in a multinational environment.
  • Degree in Law, Finance, International Relations, Administrative or Political Sciences
  • Excellent business English language skills (C2);
  • Customer oriented, enterprise mindset and ability to understand and work with complex contracts and products.
  • Demonstrated success in effectively managing contracting projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
  • Meticulousness and attentiveness to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in an international team.
  • Resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in in MS Office Suite;
