We are looking for a Software Architect who will be responsible to take the business strategy for the Wolters Kluwer Regulatory Reporting product stack within CCOE, define and maintain a technology and information / content architecture to support our strategies and our business aspirations.
You must understand our company's business while still being able to delve into and solve complex technology issues. You will assist in designing, building, integrating, and testing of high-quality modules.
You diagnose and resolve complex issues, discuss, and negotiate software architecture with piers within different divisions to work towards an integrated common architecture that ultimately will result in qualitative products for our customers.
You will draft the technology strategy for the content subdivision (CCOE), that would fit into the wider architectural landscape of the division, aiming at seamlessly integrating several modules / components.
As Software Architect you will also present, discuss and defend the sub divisional strategy with senior stakeholders and in the context of the strategy of the wider organization.
As Software Architect you will serve as an advisor for senior management in not only solving complex technology issues and developing a unified architectural approach for our module / component based integrated solutions, but also in developing and retaining the right level of technical skillset of our ever growing technical teams.
The Software Architect needs elaborated design, coding, and delivery experience of scalable web-based solutions on the .
Net and Java stack with a SQL Server and / or Oracle back-end. Furthermore, the Software Architect has experience with building system modules and testing for stability, performance, and scalability and he or she will keep track and have deep understanding of technology and market trends that may impact Wolters Kluwer’s Regulatory Reporting technology strategy.
You will report into the Director of Operations within EMEA. Your responsibilities : Get familiar with and analyze the current application landscape Work with different departments and teams in the organization to assure the appropriate technology strategies and application architectural alignment for the Regulatory Reporting products are fully defined and fit into the overarching framework of the enterprise architecture Ensure optimal integration of components / modules within our Regulatory Reporting architecture and with the overall enterprise architecture to achieve business goals and a high-quality integrated end product Analyze legacy IT systems and business processes in the context of industry leading practices and recommend initiatives to improve business capabilities through continuous architectural improvements to the Regulatory Reporting’s Product stack within CCOE that would also fit into the wider architecture assist in developing and championing the necessary business cases to accomplish same Define the ongoing architecture governance process to ensure ongoing alignment within the different components of the Regulatory Reporting product stack in accordance with business strategy Play an advisory role in the creation of scalable multi-tier software designs and applications and resources and skillset needed to accomplish them Be aware of technology trends and developments as well as relevant product roadmaps to introduce industry leading practices and technologies and align the specific technologies identified with the relevant business capabilities Increase awareness of security topics within CCOE teams and ensure releases are delivered without vulnerabilities Qualifications and Skill Set : Systems thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking) Knowledge of the Financial Industry for which the enterprise architecture is being developed Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering Knowledge of IT governance and operations Knowledge of financial modelling as it pertains to IT investment Project and program management planning and organizational skills Experience with SOA at Enterprise level Experience and good understanding of Web application servers Scalable message-based systems (ESB, AMQP, ) Web Services (soap and rest) Enterprise design patterns Database and Object Role Modelling Test Driven or Behavior driven development experience Exposure to SAAS solutioning Security Topics Good understanding of Container technologies Personality / Personal traits : Passionate about technology and how technology can bring value to business Assertive, being able to make expert decisions based on personal judgement Self-steering, pragmatic thinker and attentive to details Good understanding of the challenges in translation of business needs to architectural / technology solutions Team player with interpersonal and leadership skills - servant leadership, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills Excellent communicator (written and oral) Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand Comfortable in explaining and defending your ideas, while still able to recognize the merits of others’ opinions Customer service orientation Time management and prioritization Responsible, methodical and organized Flexible and open to change
