The Operational Product Manager will lead a Product Pillar Team which will be part of the Upstream Operations Team . This team, along with the Downstream Operations Team, are two components of Digital Operations Team, which ensures the end-to-end operational support for products that are delivered to Sustainalytics clients.

The Product Pillar Team will be responsible for defining new operational processes and results expected from Digital Operations team in order to support new product launches or new releases of existing products that are within the products family assigned to the pillar.

The Product Pillar Team will collaborate with internal clients to translate the business requirements in operational processes and will ensure that processes are documented, and the requirements and the timelines established for product launches or product enhance releases are communicated in due time to the Downstream Operations Team who will implement the process steps.


Build and keep up-to-date the operational roadmap for all products that are part of the Pillar’s product family

Establish Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in line with needs and expectations of the products family assigned to the Pillar Team, and monitor quarterly progress against the OKRs

Ensure that the Product Pillar Team provides complete implementation requirements with regards to products launches or releases within the pillar’s product family

Ensure that the Product Pillar team keeps up-to-date documentation of products’ business requirements and of the underlying operational processes

Ensure that any changes in product requirements or in the planning of the product family releases are communicated in due time to the Downstream Operations Team

  • Monitor planning within the Pillar team and properly prioritize team’s activities;
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolution of requests raised by stakeholders via various channels (emails, tickets, calls)

    Define quality standards for the Pillar Team’s output, in collaboration with Upstream and Downstream Operations management, and ensure that the quality standards are fulfilled on an ongoing basis

    Ensure that the feedback received from stakeholders is properly analyzed by the Pillar Team, and facilitate collaboration with the product managers, client facing teams and research teams to get consent in relation to changes or improvement of the current operational processes related to the product family

    Ensure that tools development or upgrading required to support the processes owned by Upstream Operations Team are documented and communicated in due time to the software development teams in charge of process automation


    Ability to manage complex and multifaceted operating environment

    Ability to comprehend and analyze complex business requirements for processes that support the business needs in a timely and efficient way

    Experience with stakeholders’ management in a dynamic environment

    Excellent communication skills and ability to create and maintain good relationships with stakeholders across the company

    Experience with product management, program management or change management would be a big plus

    Proficient business English oral and writing skills (the company’s working language is English)

    Hands-on, agile leadership approach

    Familiarity with financial markets and supplier relationship management

    Experience with project / people management would be a plus
