As a Facilities Manager, you'll be responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of an organization.
You'll ensure that best practices are followed for maximum efficiency and that the most suitable working environment is attained for its employees and their activities.
You'll be involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, particularly in relation to buildings and premises.
Likely areas of responsibility include :
Building and grounds maintenance;
Catering and vending;
Health and safety;
Procurement and contract management;
Utilities and communications infrastructure;
Reception and correspondence.
As a Facilities Manager, you'll need to :
Direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling;
Ensure buildings meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation;
Plan best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organizing of current premises;
Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies;
Ensure that the office policies are applied;
Reception of materials and their management;
Contact with the building, management of the contracts and improvement proposals;
Ensuring all aspects related to network security together with IS-IT department;
Offering support for organizing events;
Manage tenders for subcontractors, together with the Procurement department;
Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology and so on;
Project manage, supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors;
Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives;
Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities;
Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.
Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position;
Well-versed in technical / engineering operations and facilities management best practices;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent organizational and leadership skills;
Good analytical / critical thinking;
BSc / BA in relevant areas;
English language advanced level.
