The Role : UX Designer

This person is a UX Architect / Product Designer, not a UI Designer and will be responsible for helping to drive the UX on one of EA’s most successful franchise FIFA.

They will report to the UX Director and join of team of talented UX Designers split between Bucharest and Vancouver, enhancing the way millions of players interact with our game.

The ideal candidate understands evidence based design and is passionately driven to deliver delightful and frictionless user experiences.

In addition to solid comprehension of usability and human factors, we seek a Designer with determination and resourcefulness, thorough attention to detail, and an ability to clearly influence and articulate the right solutions.

This UX Designer is obsessed with games UX, able to sell and defend work while professionally responding to feedback, and thrives in a highly collaborative, high pressure and iterative product environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Help improve the overall user experience of FIFA and design new compelling experiences.
  • Create solutions to complex UX problems within strict technical limitations and tight deadlines.
  • Analyse, isolate and solve existing problems with friction and legacy systems.
  • Collaborate with Producers and Designers to help realize product goals and KPI’s.
  • Hands-on Architect capable of delivering several low fidelity wireframes in a day and interactive prototypes in a couple of days.
  • Conceptualize and effectively visually communicate UX ideas to get buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Partner UX features end-to-end including Creative / Feature Briefs, Milestone Deliverables, Change Requests and Bug Tracking.
  • Drive UX Audits, Brainstorm & Ideation sessions, Concept Pitches, Alignment Meetings, Estimations, Evaluations, User testing Requirements, Dashboard Design and Build Reviews.
  • Help improve UX culture and influence stakeholders with player first ideas / recommendations / solutions.
  • Domain expertise, can onboard fast to know the product and why it is so successful.
  • Employ multiple data points - qualitative and quantitative to validate and inform design decisions.
  • Understanding of our target audience, personas and the motivations that lead to deeper consumer engagement.
  • Work with partner teams to evaluate and translate insights into actionable results.
  • Leverage systems and knowledge from team / partner teams.
  • Competencies and Qualifications :

  • Bachelors of Science degree in HCI or a design-related field with Human Factors, 3+ years professional UX experience.
  • Experience designing complex user experiences across games or products / services.
  • Excellent core UX skills including human factors, psychology, UX principles, heuristics, guidelines etc.
  • Commanding knowledge of Wireframing and Prototyping tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite) and the ability to produce low and high fidelity solutions.
  • An exceptional portfolio demonstrating a track record of successful UX work and high impact creative and emotional design solutions to complex problems.
  • Simplifier that can also get the bigger picture, takes smart calculated risks, is innovative, a visionary that can think outside the box but still deliver fun solutions within strict technical limitations.
  • Personable and understands how to engage with individuals and teams for maximum impact.
  • Takes initiative, doesn't wait to be asked and plans efficiently while avoiding analysis paralysis.
  • Sensitivity to user goals, wants and needs, furthermore ability to prioritize against business goals.
  • Deep thinker, can critically analyze UX and understands why and how it is successful.
  • Experience in data synthesis or quantitative feedback.
