Possible position locations : Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova

Since the conflict in Ukraine started, our teams have been on the ground assessing and responding to the urgent needs of those searching for safety.

We are currently scaling up our multi-country response across three countries (Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine) and are recruiting for many key positions that will make a direct impact on the lives of people who have been caught up in conflict.


As the Consortium Child Protection Advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the BHA-funded consortium in Ukraine for Child Protection monitoring and other safeguarding practices, training, and reporting, as well as leading the consortium’s technical working stream on child protection for all consortium members and implementing partners.


  • Provide strategic lead in Child Protection in Humanitarian action (CPHA) for World Vision’s component of the project in line with the Ukraine government as well as inter-agency regulations and guidance.
  • Support Monitoring and Evaluation to integrate CP needs in baseline and end line and contribute to interagency assessment and monitoring processes
  • Support development of strategic documents for the project / consortium to include CP aspects
  • Develop or provide technical support for activities targeted to CP
  • CP supervision and capacity building through training and on job coaching for WV staff, partners of the consortium and local implementing partners
  • Support the Protection Specialist to establish / strengthen the safeguarding mechanisms within the response, including partner agencies
  • Participate in child protection sub-cluster and other relevant CP task forces as deemed necessary for strong coordination efforts
  • Support for CP staff recruitment and partner selection as needed
  • Work closely with the Child Protection Advisor in Ukraine, MHPSS Advisors and Education Advisors to ensure synergy between CP components of project / consortium with World Vision’s other projects and sectors.

  • Minimum 7 years working experience as a child protection advisor in humanitarian contexts
  • Masters degree in social science, social work, humanitarian protection or any other relevant degree
  • European or international driving license

  • Demonstrable experience in child protection programming, including child protection minimum standards
  • Strong report writing and monitoring skills Interpersonal, management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong capacity building, facilitation and mentoring skills Knowledge of MS Office and statistical programs

  • Frequent travels between Romania and Moldova
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong skills in oral and written English. Romanian, Ukrainian or Russian of advantage
