Responsibilities
Offering 3rd line support - Investigating and fixing problems escalated from 2nd line support
Discussing problem resolution with client and internal managers
Analyzing and making changes to infrastructure to improve performance
Ensuring the correct set-up of monitoring systems
Maintaining and improving support information and documentation
Mentoring junior technical staff
Occasional involvement in installation projects
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory skills :
Experience of supporting and administering Linux systems ideally Centos / RHEL but not limited to other distributions
Scripting experience in at least one medium (Shell / Perl / Python)
Experience performing patching and running day-to-day maintenance
Understanding of TCP / IP networking and diagnosis
Experience monitoring and troubleshooting performance related issues
Excellent standard of English language, both verbal and written
Well-developed communication skills
The following skills would be a plus :
Experience of supporting database platforms (Oracle / MySQL)
Experience of automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet
Strong documentation skills
Experience of Cobbler or any other management tool
Experience with Kali, Ubuntu, Suse, Amazon Linux
Load balancer experience
Working knowledge of ITIL
Complimentary skills with some of the following :
o Storage Solutions : HP / EMC,
o Backup Technologies : Symantec NetBackup,
o Azure, AWS.
