Global Finance Operations (GFO) provides services to support Oracle’s sales transactions from opportunity through invoice collection including sales compensation administration, across all lines of business and countries globally, while continuously improving the employee and customer experience.

Our team (GTS GFO Technical Solutions) provides expertise, guidance and flexible solutions to meet the changing needs of the organization and supports global projects and initiatives.

The GTS-BI team designs, develops and maintains reporting and data analysis platform for the GFO organization, participates in strategic BI projects, which drive key corporate initiatives by providing timely and valuable insights into business operations, and we cooperate closely with Oracle IT organization to implement latest technologies to enhance and extend our BI solutions portfolio.

Our team is global and we do have members in several countries United States, India, Romania, and Czech Republic.

Role Responsibilities

This role provides BI development support to the GFO organization by enabling advanced custom reporting and data analysis solutions that meet specific business needs.

This includes working with the business to understand their requirements, working with our IT partners to understand existing systems and data sources, identifying and documenting solutions and development on data extraction, transformation, presentation and analysis in various tools and languages.

This role participates on technical projects with focus on improvements, extensions, upgrades of our cloud-based platforms and tools and the implementation and integration of new technologies and tools as required.

Also, this role provides support to existing solutions by managing bug tickets, trouble-shooting and resolving system issues and managing enhancement tickets.

Qualifications / Skills Required

Technical education (Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science) or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience with Relational Databases (Oracle), Data Warehouses, BI middleware and BI presentation tools :

  • Knowledge of SQL / PLSQL, Relational Data Modeling, Dimensional Modeling and Star Schema design
  • Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud and / or OBIEE 12 End-to-end development of reporting solutions Extensive experience in design and development of Oracle BI Repository (RPD) solution, implementing well designed metadata layers, experience with advances techniques like multiple source systems, data segmentation etc.
  • Analysis, Dashboards and Agents design and best practices Data Visualization projects Authentication and Authorization Object level and Data level security Performance Tuning and Optimization

  • Data Extraction, Transformation & Load tools and methodologies Knowledge of Oracle DB metadata (Data Dictionary) and access methods (OCI, JDBC, schemas, roles, ) Knowledge of ETL solutions preferably ODI 12 (Oracle Data Integrator) knowledge of its architecture (interfaces, scenarios, packages, agents, repository) and ability to design, implement and schedule data loads
  • Optional technical skills :

  • Good knowledge of Cloud Concepts and Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) is an added advantage
  • Other Data Integration technologies like Oracle Golden Gate (GG), data streaming etc. are plus
  • Basic knowledge / awareness of other BI tools (MS Power BI, Tableu, Alteryx, ) is a plus
  • Experience with programing languages like Python or Java for data manipulation and analysis is an advantage
  • Experience with Oracle APEX for quick database driven applications development is a plus
  • Strong personal, communication and project skills :

  • Dedication, teamwork, drive for results and commitment to quality are essential
  • A strong customer-oriented focus and experience in working directly with end users are required
  • Independent and responsible, capable of work efficiently and achieving results in a virtual and global team and escalating issues when appropriate
  • Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills (English)
  • Ability to partner with the business team to understand their requirements, propose creative solutions and implement the solutions
  • Effective in building relationships with Corporate IT and other business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze current processes and recommend process improvements
  • Strong planning, organization, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with agile development cycle methodologies
  • Willingness to invest extra effort during busy periods like quarter end or project deadlines
  • Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Assists with analyzing complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.

    As part of a software project implementation team assists in implementing software projects by mapping business processes, producing documentation, establishing acceptance testing criteria.

    Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures.

    Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving.

    Ability to travel as necessary. Prefer 2 years relevant experience and BA / BS degree.
