We are seeking a full-time Communication Specialist to oversee internal and external communication related activities. Responsibilities include PowerPoint presentation creation, writing press releases, internal messaging and memos, content creation, Intranet management and Marketing / HR support.
Candidate must have experience in external communication efforts including controlling information output and handling incoming requests for information from media outlets.
This individual needs to bring an innovative and creative capability to our team. Working under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Communications Specialist responsibilities include :
Create effective communication strategies for our company
Coordinate external and internal communications flow : Press releases Internal Memos Intranet content management Welcoming & messages platform
Work with local media to find out when good opportunities for PR exist & network with media Communicate with media regularly Manage media inquiries and arrange interviews, statements etc.
PowerPoint Presentations work with Sales team on needs for upcoming meetings
Content creation : Blog - Food for Thought management Website updates New flyers & brochures
Build long-term relationships with influencers and key stakeholders
Collaborate with Marketing / HR teams
Minimum qualifications :
2+ years’ experience managing and coordinating press releases. This is a primary function for this position.
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficient in Windows 7 and newer
Well organized, good communicator, good speller, good knowledge of grammar, good proof-reader
Additional qualifications :
Knowledge of Salesforce & Hubspot is a plus
Knowledge of design and construction industry is a plus
