Job Description Summary

The role is part of the teams responsible for the maintenance of post-implementation services, ensuring the development, updating and delivery of technical solutions and consulting of the highest class for key clients in the regions served by GE Grid Software Solutions.

Job Description

In this role, you will :

  • Taking over the cases from the Service Now tool and ensuring the achievement of the Service Level Agreement’ target.
  • Work with multiple technologies : C++, SQL, Shell, Cassandra and Oracle Databases, IIS ,VMware.
  • Be involved in all the ADMS projects from EURAF zone for ensuring quality assurance standards and procedures in all aspects of software development and system integration.
  • Setup and configure internal servers similar as per Customer systems.
  • Upgrade Linux versions and Oracle versions , act like System Administrator.
  • Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities.
  • Providing consultancy and network design services, conditional monitoring analyzes, predictive maintenance, emergency support, ad-hoc maintenance or partnerships for long-term services.
  • Analysis and possible design / redesign of several changes and / or updates of software components, as well as analysis and schematization, from a hardware and software perspective, of new change requirements from the customer.
  • The development, testing, implementation and launch of new software components is an essential part of this role.

    We are seeking an enquiring mind, with desire to learn new skills and a broad understanding of software intergration fundamentals plus the ability to work efficiently within a geographically distributed team.

    Your primary responsibility will be solve Customer issues within the SLAs time so being multitasking and being able to work with deadlines is very important.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other specialization in the field of "STEM" (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)
  • Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of SCADA industrial systems
  • Very good knowledge of RDBMS databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle), installation and complex PL / SQL queries
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Very Good client-facing skills
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, Windows Server, Linux, source code management programs
  • Basic Knowledge of NoSQL databases (CassandraDB, MariaDB)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows systems, utilities and scripting
  • Understanding programming languages (C ++, Java)
  • Understading networking knowledge (router configurations, firewalls, network / routing protocols)
  • Understanding Application servers : IIS.
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V) deployment and administration of virtual machines
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, .NET, PERL, Powershell)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • English fluent (both oral and written).
  • Would be a plus :

  • Software management tools : JIRA, Service Now, Jenkins.
  • Software architecture & design knowledge and experience : Multi-tiered software, service oriented, high-availability, security, high-performance.
  • Understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile SWS Development Methodology and SCRUM
  • Experience working on software projects in the Energy domain (Energy Management, Oil & Gas, Power & Water)
  • French or Polish speaker
  • The successful candidate may need to travel abroad

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and prioritize tasks
