Oracle's Global License Management Services (LMS) is an organization that promotes the management, governance and awareness of the proper use and distribution of Oracle software solutions and systems through expert services.

Its goal is to provide Customers and / or Partners with the most up-to-date knowledge, best practices and tools to manage and maximize our Customer’s Oracle license investment.

Role

Responsible for the leveraging of software solutions to provide transformation of data and provide useful business insights through the use of strong analytical and statistical skill to drive strategic planning and performance analysis to enable to business community with information to review and address area’s of business growth and risk.

Scope

As a member of the development team reporting to the IT Director, you will specify, design, develop and implement changes to existing and newly required analytics solutions.

Provide expert knowledge to the business to ensure the best use of technology to meet the business requirements and ensuring the systems stay up to date with technology and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Research, model and predict future LMS business performance planning and trends and create meaningful data visualizations that communicate findings and areas of business opportunity and business risk
  • Understand business data and create exploratory data analysis to navigate a dataset to determine broad conclusions based on initial appraisals and deliver insight to create business impact
  • Organize and wrangle large datasets to provide actionable intelligence from them, including finding innovative ways to combine fields of data that don’t naturally mesh together
  • Use algorithms and programming to efficiently go through large datasets and apply treatments, filters and conditions
  • Build in-depth knowledge of Oracle internal data sources, and customer install base and Finance systems
  • Work across lines of business to build strong collaboration and network of key stakeholders in LMS, Finance and other key Oracle divisions
  • Mentoring and coaching of business users in best use of the existing solutions and advise on new technologies that can further improve the business users experience
  • DWH / ETL / SQL

  • Data Warehouse enhancement and maintenance

  • Data preparation into Data Mining Model specific required format (case tables)
  • Build requirement specific Data Mining Workflows and Scripts
  • Build Data mining models (Classification, Clustering, Association)
  • Calibrate parameters to optimal model performance
  • Deploy DM model and test prediction accuracy
  • Plausibility checks
  • Explore new ways to expose data from our machine learning platform
  • Other advanced analysis for individual request
  • Data Visualization

  • Build presentations of data in a graphical format to make analysis understandable for non-technical stakeholder
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • BA / BS degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science field, Applied Maths, Statistics
  • Typically 10 years’ experience in related field involving quantitative data analysis and problem solving
  • Advanced development capability of Oracle Business Intelligence analytic tools
  • Advanced Experience with SQL, PL / SQL and database modelling
  • Good Knowledge of Java and Python or R
  • Knowledge of ADF ideal but not essential
  • Knowledge of Hadoop advantageous
  • Experience designing and building ETL solutions
  • Ability to collect data from various sources (web APIs, to internal database)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to work in a global team environment
  • Results-oriented and innovation-oriented personality
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexibility to accommodate meetings and critical deadlines
  • Strong analytical approach and keen to understand LMS 'bigger picture'
  • Technical Writing experience a plus
  • Data Warehouse design but not essential
  • Oracle Data Miner experience but not essential
  • Fluent English
  • Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

    As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.

    You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

    Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical / business skills in area of specialization.

    Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

    7 years of software engineering or related experience.
