The Business Analyst will serve as a primary liaison between the Data Engineering and Analytics teams and business end users, eliciting requirements for BI / Data Analytics initiatives.
The person in this role drives requirements sessions and helps the business fully articulate its data reporting needs.
The Business Analyst will also directly assist with BI visualization and process development work, as well as quality assurance testing.
Part of this role will also involve data quality monitoring and data warehouse maintenance tasks

Serves as Business Analyst in support of several existing as well as future Corporate Data Engineering and Analytics / BI capabilities
Serves as liaison between business and development teams to drive requirements and help prioritize requests
Helps establish and clarify the Business Analyst role within the organization
Drives requirements definition sessions with both business users and project team, helping identify potential new data sources
Helps define and create standardized processes to facilitate BI requirements elicitation and prototype design review sessions
Creates documentation, work flows, process flows, prototypes, mock-ups and other artifacts used to capture, communicate and align business requirements
Validates that completed work meets requirements and service level agreements through the development and application of a thorough testing processes
Stays current on information published by organizations and individuals who are leading and influencing the practice of Business Analysis, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence
Contributes ideas to the product backlogs that can help resolve ongoing issues and reduce technical debt
Performs other duties as required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming, computer engineering or related field preferred, or comparable job-related experience and training
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Information Systems, Business or an equivalent combination of education and comparable job-related experience and training
3-5+ years of Business Analyst experience in Data engineering and Data warehouse environment
5+ years of creating requirements documentation in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Hands on experience with Agile methodology and DevOps process
Experience conducting requirements gathering workshops with business users
Experience with incident and task management tools like Service-now
Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
Intermediate experience in developing SQL queries (minimum 1 year of professional experience)
Must be a self-starter and highly organized
Proven analytical skills; adept and comfortable with learning new technologies; can quickly understand and leverage available resources
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers in both, technology and the business
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
Comfortable working with all levels of the organization
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented
Ability to work in a highly collaborative and consensus driven environment and comfortable with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment
Functional experience working with sales, finance, operations, customer service, marketing and regulatory a plus
Prior experience in health care industry a plus
Prior experience with dashboard development or reports using BI tools such as Tableau, SiSense, PowerBI etc, a plus
Business Analyst certification a plus
