Position Summary

The core responsibility for this position is to achieve the individual - target / goals by maintaining and building the external relationship with agencies and clients, working with internal sales partners to develop the creative and unique solutions and increase revenue by maximizing advertising share from the market / clients.

Responsibility for negotiation and managing of all deals with agencies and clients to ensure that yearly budgets will be delivered over channel portfolio.

The job holds a full-time position.


  • Works effectively with the Senior Ad Sales Manager on the execution of the ad sales strategy, participate in yearly negotiations with agencies / clients and has an active sales initiative
  • Full responsibility over day-to-day selling process for a part of the media agencies / clients for Romania across channel portfolio by developing effective relationships by phone or face to face meetings, developing, closing and managing deals
  • Shares client conversations with the Senior Ad Sales Manager, to help overall knowledge and client understanding
  • Controlling delivery of budgets form advertising agencies (based on annual agreements with agency)
  • Confidently and decisively resolves issues in a way that retains relationships with clients / agencies
  • Together with BP team taking a lead in client direct contacts and relationship building for Romania
  • Has a professional impact on clients so they have a positive impression of working with Discovery, which favorably influences future deals
  • Actively interacts with possible new business in order to deliver sales for Romania
  • Builds and maintains a good collaboration with the Discovery departments and London / Paris teams in order to quickly acquire and supply the agencies / clients / reps all the support needed
  • Efficient communication with the Marketing, Program planning, Research, On Air and PR departments on new sales opportunities
  • Collaborates with internal departments (finance, legal) in order to formalize contracts / agreements made with the advertisers and / or media agencies.
  • Meets the timings and deadlines of deliverables
  • Supports execution of sales
  • Keeps sales back office files up to date (Client Conditions, Revenue Files, Weekly reports etc.)
  • Excelling in quality customer service and support to make sure Discovery lives up to its market reputation of being No1 Sales House in Romania
  • Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in media sales on independent position, TV & digital sales experience
  • University degree
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skill
  • Excellent level of English
  • Interests in TV & digital market
  • Highly motivated
  • Good team player
  • Ability to focus on results and detail to maintain highest standards in customer satisfaction
