Provide technical leadership for portfolio of assigned products. Partake in achievement of company growth and profit goals through assessment of market needs and subsequent development of product portfolio.
Lead initiatives for product improvement, new product development, training and promotion activities to drive the success of assigned products and product strategy.
Serve as subject matter expert and internal and external champion for assigned products / product lines.
Maintain understanding of product line strengths and weaknesses, and opportunities to improve results consistent with strategy;
Participate in pricing and discount structure strategy and execution;
Participate with salesforce, world area marketing, and business development and Integrated Marketing to identify customer facing initiatives required to achieve growth goals;
Participate in the development of WA sales incentive programs that drive focus for assigned products by working closely with WA Sales Management;
Work with Global Training team to help develop single, globalized sales, customer care and service training material for assigned products / product line;
Develop knowledge of product line financial targets of revenue, unit growth, profitability and market participation;
Ensure that the required product marketing and collaterals are available and maintained through product life cycle;
Supports timely resolution of Customer and Rapid Response feedback about assigned products / product line. Works with global quality team to implement product safety / quality notifications;
Maintain knowledge and awareness of competitive products and strategies for use in defining the new product;
Develop and provide relevant tools to promote products & solutions (application guide, industrial guide, competitive guide etc.
in the world area sales channel, customer care and operations for assigned product and technology;
Assure approvals and certifications requirements are maintain for global product Success;
Support the Engineered to Order (ETO) process and standardization by providing market expertise to resolve issues for strategic customers;
As required, interface with customers and make site visits to diagnose and resolve these high visibility issues;
Helps to identify training needs, tools, and other resources to achieve product line growth. Communicates key application and customer success stories / proven results within World Area for Sales, Global Product Management and Integrated Marketing;
Support new product development
Assist in new product development incorporating the voice of the customer into the new product development process, and engaging with design engineering and other functional teams to assure customer needs and business financial targets are met;
Assist in the launch of new products in local markets and evaluates sales channel readiness to sell assigned product;
Contribute in the prioritization and follow-up of the ECR process;
Support Supply chain to analyze product manufacturing costs and relative price position in marketplace and make improvement recommendations.
Master or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (ME,or ChE) : Engineering background needed to investigate and develop customer application / product needs, conduct competitive analysis, develop product specifications and general product improvements consistent with market needs;
Advanced Degree in Marketing or Business preferred : Marketing / sales background used to evaluate market trends, industry projections, and conduct market analysis;
6+ years engineering experience in engineering sales and 1-2 years marketing exposure : Must know process control business, good knowledge of marketplace, competitive product customers, and applications;
Position requires strong presentation, writing, and analytical skills. The product Engineer will be required to develop and present the commercial, technical, and manufacturing aspects of major programs.
