About the Role:

Bitdefender seeks an experienced project manager to join our Business Solution Group Product and Engineering teams. This is a key role for driving key product and engineering projects with direct impact on the overall go-to-product and go-to-market execution for the company’s Business Solutions portfolio. You will be responsible for leading complex product and engineering projects to success, as well as sponsoring and continuously improving cross-functional communication and collaboration.

Successful candidates must have prior experience in managing complex projects in the hi-tech software development industry. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a current or former role specific to managing large scale projects that involve multiple teams in multiple geographies. We value creative, out-of-the-box thinkers, unafraid of challenging the status quo, who are adept at working with cross-functional teams across the US and Europe to successfully achieve business objectives.

Various levels of seniority are available, based on the candidate’s background and experience.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and/or enhance existing internal processes and procedures related to product management and engineering activities. Implement best practices and tools for project management, continuously seeking new ways to improve existing processes and project KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain project plans for large scale product and engineering development efforts assigned to you.
  • Define and document project scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables and implement performance metrics that support business goals, working cross-functionally with all stakeholders and senior management.
  • Implement appropriate project governance for each project, being ultimately responsible for the project successful and timely delivery. Proactively identify risks to current projects and implement effective mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Identify, document, and manage project dependencies. Resolve project and team related issues and potential conflicts.
  • Build and maintain a project dashboard and continuously communicate project status updates to the project team and key stakeholders
  • Enable project team open communication and effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Closely monitor project costs and overall spend on the project path to completion
  • Control project financials thru an effective change control process and efficient resources management
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, working with the client and internal project teams.
  • Ensure proper risk management by documenting all risks and ensuring effective mitigation strategy. Devise contingency plans as necessary. Effectively and timely manage project plan changes and ensure proper stakeholder communication.
     

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in highly dynamic software development / cloud technology companies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program or project management positions.
  • Possess industry-leading certifications that are applicable to the job profile (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, etc.)
  • Experience in operational excellence, Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and/or process improvement is a strong candidate differentiator
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies, modern tooling
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from planning through post-completion. Must have experience working with Agile (kanban, scrum)
  • Strong people skills, with proven ability to effectively work with global cross-functional teams and external customers.
  • Must be self-motivated and a proactive self-starter.
  • Available for domestic and international travel; up to 10% of the time will be required.
