POSITION SUMMARY

The Drivetrain (DT) North American (NA) SAP Functional Lead for SAP Modules Sales & Distribution (SD) / Warranty is responsible for managing multiple simultaneous Information Technology projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities include planning and coordinating resources and activities to meet business requirements and project completion dates.

This person will also provide continuous improvement coaching in the Sales & Distribution, Warranty and Automotive Consulting Solutions Warranty enhancement modules of SAP.

This role may also require hands-on support in the areas of data manipulation, migration, validation and analysis.

Activities include championing the user of common concepts, standards, procedures and best practices within SAP. A successful candidate must be able to work well with end users to provide system support, while sharing knowledge and understanding.

This person needs to have the ability to gather business requirements and convert them into development design / programming specifications.

This role needs to be able to work independently while gathering requirements, performing functional testing, and customizing / configuration, creating documentation, and conducting end user training.

This person will work towards continuous improvement in processes and end user skill levels, diligently pursuing enhancements to ensure the system is being used properly and fully to meet the business needs.

The DT NA SAP Functional Lead will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive business relationships throughout the business community, consistently adding value back to the business by leveraging their knowledge and experience to manage multiple business system projects and application software activities.

This person will work with both internal or external design / implementation teams and work cross-functionally between the business and IT to bridge gap between design, content and technology.

They will also work with distributed team to provide this support across North America, 8 plants in the 2 plants in Mexico and 1 plant in Canada with 3 additional support sites 2 in and 1 in Mexico.

Travel will be required up to 15% of their time.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Must have experience with and understand standard business processes and SAP functionality that support a manufacturing plant with a focus in Sales & Distribution, Warranty and Automotive Consulting Solutions Warranty enhancement and ABAP development
  • Provide day to day support of multiple SAP logistic modules using systems analysis skills to identify and resolve system and data issues
  • Responsible for formulating and defining scope and objectives of projects and ensuring communication of project goals and business direction to functional management
  • Work independently with users to define business requirements; strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Experience in writing program specifications and diagrams, able to define coding logic
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people and management levels
  • Tests, documents, and conducts end user training regarding system enhancements to ensure the system is being used properly and that it is meeting business needs
  • Responsible for delivering the assigned projects on time, within budget while meeting the strategic business and technical requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other related technical degree; MBA a plus
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Information Technology systems and software development
  • Strong business analysis, definition, and design skills
  • 5+ years of SAP experience in multiple modules : preferably SD, Warranty, Automotive Consulting Solutions Warranty process
  • Experience in development within SAP ABAP and troubleshooting
  • Ability and desire to solve complex process / software functional problems
  • Proven ability to successfully analyze and formulate technical solutions to business problems
  • Strong customer management skills and ability to understand and translate and define complex business requirements
  • Ability to provide IT solutions that meet the business needs while staying within budget and often rapid timeframes
  • Attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
  • Qualified candidates should possess a strong understanding of project management
  • Results oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills
