Steelcase’s Global Tax team is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan (USA) and has regional tax leaders based in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) for the EMEA region and Shanghai (China) for the Asia Pacific region.
The team is involved in handling compliance, transfer pricing, tax planning, income tax accounting, tax audits and other topics related to tax.
The tax team is seeking a tax analyst, motivated and eager to learn more about working in our Global Business Center Cluj.
As part of the team, you will be mainly involved in supporting the team in all areas of tax, as outlined in the mission below.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with people from different countries in EMEA and the United States.
What you will be doing :
Tax compliance : Preparation and submission of the VAT returns and other VAT ledgers in various EU countries. Compile and format data necessary for the preparation of VAT returns.
Monitor tax compliance process to assure legal compliance and accuracy. Communicate with accounting managers in EU countries and assist them with tax compliance issues.
Transfer pricing : Assist with the monthly intercompany recharges and other requests related to transfer pricing analysis.
Review the existence of intercompany agreements and update these agreements as needed.
Income tax accounting : Provide assistance to the team members in relation to reconciliation of tax accounts and work on accurate year-end tax reports
Audit support : Ready documentation to support local country audits and dispute resolution.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance / Accounting
Possessing an ACCA designation or on the track to complete the ACCA is something highly appreciated
2 years experience in tax, finance or accounting
Any SAP or ERP knowledge would be excellent
Any experience in VAT compliance and reporting would be a plus
Who you are :
A fluent English speaker, of course. Your knowledge of French or German represents a definite advantage
You possess shown oral and written communication skills
Able to build positive business relationships with internal and external partners and work effectively with governmental agencies, legal counsel and tax advisors
Exposure to accounting / tax field in a previous job
Deep understanding of tax principles, tax and accounting legislation
Proficient in Microsoft applications
Interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
Excellent teammate, passionate about and open to working with multiple cultures
