AChief Accountant will ensure all accounting activities are upheld incoordination with hotels / company standards and in conjunction with the localaccounting regulation (Romanian Accounting System) and forecasting andbudgeting plans of the hotel.
What will I be doing?
AsChief Accountant, you will ensure all accounting records are upheld incoordination with hotel / company standards and in conjunction with bothstatutory accounting and fiscal regulation (Romanian Accounting System) and Groupforecasting and budget plan.
The Chief Accountant also owns the accounting and fiscal timeliness and compliance, both statutory and group. Specifically, you will be responsible forperforming the following tasks to the highest standards :
Record, store, access and analyze computerized financial information and ensure their translation as per Romanian Accounting System / Charts of Accounts
Lead month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations, journal entries and analysis
Monthly reporting and consolidate Romanian dates in line with Group accounting policies (P&L, B&S)Manage the preparation and submitting in due time the monthly declarations as per Romanian fiscal legislation
Evaluate computerized accounting systems and lead new system implementation from a finance perspective, aligned with the Romanian Accounting System
Analyze financial / accounting data discrepancies between Group accounting policies and Romanian Accounting System and recommend effective resolutions.
Work in conjunction with Assistant Director of Finance to provide full and accurate financial statements
Organize, secure, and maintain all files and records in accordance with Romanian legislation and Group's document retention policy and procedures
Provide timely and accurate financial statements
Ensure all financial regulations are met, through the maintenance of adequate systems of internal control
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
Train and develop local Finance Team Members and ensure succession plans are in place
Build the financial awareness among members of the local management team
Hold monthly meetings with the Finance Team to give financial updates
Act in accordance with fire, health and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures when required

Relevant degree, in Finance, Accounting or related business discipline, from an academic institution
Experience in the hotel, leisure or retail sector
Preferred experience in working with SUN / Navision accounting system
ACCA / CECCAR member would be a plus
Possess strong commercial awareness
Excellent financial management experience
A full understanding of financial operating systems and procedures
Strong influencing, leadership skills, inter-personal and communication skills
Excellent analytical skills
It would be advantageous in thisposition for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions :
Previous experience working in theAccounts / Finance Management function within the hospitality industry
