As a Claim Manager for Instrumentation & Driver HMI (ID) Business Unit, you have interfaces to different internal departments (especially Purchasing, Quality and Manufacturing) as well as to existing / established Claim Management functions within Continental Automotive and to the Legal Department / Law Department.
A mentor will support you to stepwise take over own responsibility after an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization.
The main responsibilities will be :
Collection and consolidation of existing claims (customer and supplier related);
Assure collection of needed numbers and their correct documentation;
Legal verification of collected topics, contracts and overall situation;
Moderation of Claim Workshops and consultation of specialist department;
Valuation of claims and preparation of decision proposals for the BU ID Management;
Negotiation of claims with customers and suppliers in accordance with Sales or rather Account Management and Purchasing as well as Automotive Claim Management;
Assurance of settlement / payments after claim closing;
Monthly Claim reporting including presentation to Management;
Interface to and deep involvement of Purchasing, Quality, Sales and Production departments;
Planning and execution of global information events and employee trainings regarding to the Claim Management process of BU ID;
Planning and execution of lessons learned meetings to facilitate continues process improvements.
Degree in Law, Business Law, Economics or Industrial Engineering;
Several years of professional experience in an international industrial company, preferred in Claim Management, Sales, Purchasing, Quality or Controlling
Experienced referring to contract law / contract design
Excellent negotiation skills;
Very good knowledge of project management as well as experience in managing interdisciplinary and virtual international teams;
Deep understanding of economic and technical interrelationships;
Business fluent English skills (spoken and written)
Clear competence in communication, assertiveness and organizational skills;
High motivation, flexibility and intercultural skills as well as outstanding analytical capability;
Willingness to travel also regarding international business trips.
