Job description

As a member of our HEV (Hybrid and Electrical Vehicles) mechanical engineering group, you will be involved in development of those new innovative products that not only make driving more affordable and environmentally sound but also work towards our department vision : zero-emission mobility.

In Iasi location, HEV mechanical engineering activities are focused on designing DC-DC Converters and Inverters for various automotive projects and customers.

As Group Leader for Mechanical Engineering group you'll be responsible to :

  • establish the structure and levels of communication within the group : at group level, at team level, at project team level (with Discipline Project Managers or Project Managers), at management level (with Team Leaders if existing), with direct and indirect reports.
  • ensure that employee’s competencies and skills inside the group are at the level required by the job;
  • perform the yearly evaluation process for all direct reports and supervise it for all indirect reports, according to the applicable procedure, time and budget limits;
  • mentor and coach the team leaders, discipline project leaders and project managers who are newly promoted or in trial on technical and corporate procedures, processes, policies, guidelines relevant for their job;
  • translate the business strategy into group roadmaps, implement the defined roadmaps and inform stakeholders about the progress;
  • contribute to the definition of the hiring plan for the group;
  • release all quotations from the group. Assume the responsibility for the delivery and deadline commitments from the group;
  • provide the BU budget planning for the group and track its status for training, business trips, investments etc.;
  • develop sustainable business relationships within and outside the group / location in order to enhance / promote group competences.
  • regularly check the status of the projects within the group and proposes corrective actions if the project is endangered.
  • Offer guidance for project teams which are part of the group;
  • define and apply (if case) specific discipline improvement measures ( e.g. process, workflows, guidelines, competence development);
  • bringing adequate work projects for the group in agreement with next organization level.
  • Job requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mechanics / Mechatronics, Machine manufacturing and industrial management);
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in a leading position (technical project leader, team leader, project manager).
  • Strong technical background is also needed;
  • Knowledge of mechanical design process and quality standards;
  • Knowledge on automotive mechatronics products (materials, manufacturing technologies etc.);
  • Open in communication and very good communication skills;
  • English proficient user (min. C1 level (acc. Common European Framework of Reference for Languages));
  • MS Office suite advanced user.
