The role of the Chapter Lead is to manage and coach the team of Core Banking specialists (Operations Engineers) that supports ING Core Banking Systems (Profile) for several countries (Romania, Italy, France, Czech Republic), but also act as a contributor to the success of the projects.
This position is based in Bucharest, but may include visits in other countries (Italy, France, Czech Republic, Spain) and working closely with local ING colleagues in order to gain knowledge about their banking business and IT practices.
Your day to day :
As Chapter Lead of a Core Banking OPS team, you will have both a managerial role, being responsible to :
take the personal development / growth of your chapter members at heart, you coach them and set challenging objectives together with the IT Area Lead
remove any impediments that obstruct a team pursuit of its goals and facilitate the productivity of the team.
help the team to improve performance by learning from their mistakes
collaborate with the other Chapter Leads / Delivery Managers to improve the maturity of processes and practices and to facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.
and a technical (OPS engineer) role, being responsible to :
create, configure and maintain DTAP environments, respecting ING security standards
ensure availability of all environments according to their SLAs
perform monitoring of all environments and generates performance indicators
troubleshoot and support
collaborate with other team members (business analysts, developers)
collaborate with other IT departments (monitoring, tooling, infrastructure)
understand the implications of Business Continuity Plan, implementation of Disaster Recovery solution and acts accordingly
identify, implements and tests the back-up and disaster recovery
implement application changes, according to Change Management plan
understand all implications of maintaining 24x7, business-critical systems
You will work in an AGILE environment, following SCRUM methodology
As a Chapter Lead you report to the IT Area Lead of Profile Center of Excellence.

What you bring to the team
Minimum 1 year of experience in managing a Team of +5 members (Infrastructure department, System or Network Administrators, Ops Engineers, Database Administrators)
Experience with running and managing ITSM processes (ITIL).
At least 5 years of experience as a Database / System Administrator
Experience in administration and maintenance of DTAP environments
Good knowledge of Linux operating system (RHEL)
Good knowledge of shell scripting : bash / ksh, awk, sed, python
Nice to have :
Experience in banking industry; deep understanding of different bank products and work flows.
Familiarity with tools like Confluence, JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Ansible
Experience with non-relational databases
Experience in managing JBoss EAP, Tomcat, Apache servers
English language is a must.
